First Vienna U13 Girls kick-off

It’s been a busy August preparing for the new season. One tournament, some friendly’s and lots of evening training sessions. For some of the younger members of the U13’s this weekend will be particularly busy. After their match on Saturday some of the squad will turn out on Sunday to play for the U11’s in a friendly. He are a few of my favourite pictures from Augusts matches:

Reflections – Firework display over a lake

Beautiful example of a 12th Century English Church

All Saints Church, Burton Dassett, Warwickshire, is a Grade 1  listed building with it’s origins dating back to the 12th Century. I particularly enjoyed the chance to see the examples of original medieval wall paintings:

Carvings on the pillars within the church:

A ‘rare’ sunny English summer’s day added to the beauty of the external building:

On a wet summer in England – afternoon tea by the fire

The rain was just too bad to venture out for a walk on Dartmoor. However, it provided the perfect excuse for afternoon tea sitting next to one of the castle fireplaces:

Bovey Castle, Devon.

The ancient clapper bridge over the East Dart

A few miles from where we have been staying stands the 13th century clapper bridge which spans the river East Dart at hamlet of Postbridge on Dartmoor, Devon.
